The long lasting experience with the characteristics and challenges of manufacturing wood flour is our core competence. With the construction of the new site 2014, we have shown the courage and determination to continually develop innovative, high quality, products.
In this endeavor, we rely on the good cooperation with our trade partner AGROMED AUSTRIA GmbH and their excellent connections to veterinary colleges and universities, and own experiences in the animal nutrition sector. Besides the already patented products, we face the challenge to develop new products and premixes for animal nutrition on the basis of natural ingredients in in response to ever changing market needs.

The natural product wood possesses characteristics and ingredients, being so unique and diverse there are no limits for new products and areas of use. Due to the high quality requirements and standards, wood flours originating from Westerkamp can be used in both the feed and food industry. For example wood flour is used as filtration aid in the process of glucose and starch production.
In the animal nutrition sector, the wood fibers, processed according to a special patented manufacturing process, serve as valuable natural fiber to promote an optimized digestion process. The special litter for farm animals contributes to healthier feet, as the animals are standing on a dry surface. In this way we support both animal health and welfare.

In the flooring market, the processing of wood flour has attained a significant value. Whereas wood flours were formerly primarily used in classic flooring products like linoleum, nowadays they are used for newly designed bioplastics. This natural basic material can be used in many industries like the car manufacturing industry or for indoor or outdoor construction and decoration. The wood fibers are used as basic material for the production of WPC decking planks, partitioning walls, façade paneling, or for the production of decorative baseboards and moldings. The wood plastic composites are extremely versatile, and the potential applications are near limitless

In the construction sector, wood fibers are often used as basic material for the production of glue, paints, and varnish, as well as wood plastering and wood pavement.
The more unusual sectors for the use of wood flours are the manufacturing of fireworks and in the electronic industry i.e. for the manufacturing of fuses. In the hobby segment, wood flours are predominantly used in the fishing sector.
Das Naturprodukt Holz ist so vielfältig und einzigartig, dass den Ideen für neue Produkte und Einsatzbereiche keine Grenzen gesetzt sind. Aufgrund des hohen Qualitätsstandards werden die Holzmehle aus dem Hause Westerkamp in der Futtermittel- und Lebensmittelindustrie eingesetzt, wo das Holzmehl z. B. als Filtrationshilfsmittel in der Gewinnung von Stärke und Glukose verwendet wird.
In der Futtermittelbranche dient das nach einem patentierten Verfahren aufbereitete Holzmehl als verdauungsfördernde Naturfaser. Eine spezielle Einstreu für Nutztiere schont die Fußballen und dient so dem Tierwohl.

Bei Bodenbelägen wird Holzmehl immer wichtiger. Wurde es früher hauptsächlich in Linoleum verarbeitet, findet man es heute in einer Vielzahl von neuartigen Biokunststoffen.- so etwa in WPC Terrassendielen, Trennwänden oder Fassadenverkleidungen, Zier- und Sockelleisten, oder Holz- Kunststoff-Formteilen z. B. für die Automobilindustrie.

Am Bau dienen Holzmehle als Basismaterial für Kleber, Farben und Lacke sowie Holzputze oder Holzestrich. Auch in Feuerwerkskörpern oder im elektrotechnischen Bereich z. B. in Sicherungen finden Holzmehle Verwendung. Im Freizeitbereich findet man unsere Holzfasern vorwiegend im Bereich Angelbedarf.
